As we race towards Christmas 2022, our bookings have kept me too busy to post news here – sorry. There are pictures on Facebook and Instagram, if you want to see some of what we’ve been up to.

A couple of ceilidhs coming up will be open to the public and I’ll try to post details here as well as on Facebook and Instagram.

We’ve just recovered from the excellent ceilidh in Quy Village Hall on Saturday. At one point, we had everyone on the floor, including the bar staff. As someone said “nobody will be buying drinks if they’re all dancing, so the bar staff may as well have some fun”. Many thanks to the committee; we look forward to doing this again soon.

Did you manage to get a ticket for Little Thetford before they sold out? If not (and even if you did), why not dance the night away with Catch the Pigeon, this coming Saturday, 7th March.

We’re very pleased to be asked to play for a ceilidh in Quy Village Hall, from 7:30pm until late, when our caller for the evening will be Steve Rule.

Tickets, which include a Ploughman’s Supper, cost just £10 (£7 for under-16s) and can be bought from Quy Stores or call Ray on 01223 812422 or 07747 000676.

There will be a cash bar.

*** Little Thetford SOLD OUT ***

We’re pleased to be playing in Little Thetford on Saturday 29th February, in the village hall. Details can be found here but you’d better hurry as they’ve almost sold out. Tickets must be booked in advance (07818 846165) and cost £8.50 (family tickets £20), including a jacket potato supper. Bar also available.

Coming up very soon: another couple of ceilidhs that are open to the public.

First: Little Thetford Village Hall, Saturday 29th February 2020. Doors open at 7pm. Our caller for the evening is the inimitable Trevor Smith. Tickets (in advance, only) include a jacket potato supper and are available from 07818 846165.

Next: Quy Village Hall, Saturday 7th March 2020 from 7:30pm. Our caller, this time, will be the exuberant Steve Rule. Tickets include a Ploughman’s supper and are available from Quy Stores.

Oh look. Here comes another cathedral ceilidh to follow the fun we had in Bury St Edmunds. The date is Friday 11th October 2019. This time, we’re playing in the stunning surroundings of Ely Cathedral’s Lady Chapel, as part of their Harvest Festival. Lucky us! Sadly, dear Clive is hurtling around the world somewhere, but we’re fortunate to have the multi-talented Oscar Wolfe to play in his place. Once again, Trevor Smith will be calling for us, so expect superb calling with a dose of good humour…

More details on the cathedral’s website and on their Facebook page.

We’re excited to have been asked to play for Sheila Neill’s wonderful fundraising event, in aid of Addenbrookes Hospital, Papworth Hospital and Macmillan Cancer Support. You can keep up to date with the planning for this event here. In the meantime, save the date – 9th November 2019.

We’ve been a bit busy with private bookings and other musical enterprises but we recently played for a ceilidh in Saint Edmundsbury Cathedral (Bury St Edmunds, June 2019), and there’s another Cathedral Ceilidh on the way soon, at a different cathedral. Keep checking back here or check our Facebook page.
